Jennifer Wesselhoff, Chair

President/CEO, Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau

Jennifer Wesselhoff is the President/CEO of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau. With 15 years Chamber of Commerce experience, Wesselhoff held the Director of Tourism position as well as the Vice President’s position for the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau before taking the President/CEO position in 2007.  Jennifer oversees the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, tourism marketing efforts, one of the busiest Visitor Centers in the state of Arizona, the Sedona Film Office and the Sedona Marathon Event.

Prior to working at the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, Wesselhoff worked as an English teacher in Japan and spent three years in the hospitality industry in Interlaken, Switzerland.  She has knowledge of three foreign languages and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Bachelor’s degree in French from Miami University.

Jennifer is an active member of several national and statewide professional organizations and formerly held the position of President of the Board of Directors for the Western Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and sits on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Chamber Executives.  She has completed her Certified Destination Management Executive certification with Destination Marketing Association International and is a Certified Film Commissioner with the Association of Film Commissioners International.  Jennifer co-founded Verde Valley Tourism Council and Scottsdale-Sedona Alliance.

Wesselhoff and her husband, Rick, live an active lifestyle in Sedona.  When not at the office, she can be found running, biking or hiking in the red rocks of Sedona, or cooking and traveling with friends.

Ray Selna, Chair Elect

Ray Selna was elected to the VVREO Board of Directors in 2015. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Northern Arizona University in 1979, and holds a real estate brokerage license. Ray previously served as both mayor and council member in Clarkdale, Arizona, as well as President of the Sedona-Verde Valley Association of Realtors and the Verde Valley Rotary Club. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Northern Arizona Healthcare.

Ray’s family has been in the region since the early 1900’s and have been in the real estate development business since 1957. Ray resides in Clarkdale with his wife, Pat.


Dr. Penny Wills, Secretary

President, Yavapai College

Dr. Penny Wills became the ninth president of Yavapai College in 2011. She came to Arizona from Northeast Iowa Community College where she served as President for seven years. Being a first generation college student is a point of pride for Dr. Wills. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Michigan State University; an M.S. in Counseling from Miami University, OH; and a B.S. in Education from the University of Cincinnati.

Her expertise in such fields as student development, assessment, planning, quality improvement, and community partnerships is well respected.   Her professional accomplishments are many, including being selected for higher education institutes at Harvard University, serving in leadership positions in higher education associations, and teaching in various professional colloquiums across the country. Dr. Wills has welcomed various leadership positions at the state level to include past President of the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council; and was recently appointed by the Governor to the AZ Ready Council and to the Workforce Arizona Council. She will continue to lead Yavapai College, strengthening academic excellence, increasing accountability to the community, and supporting economic development for the region and state.

Jodie Filardo, Treasurer

Director of Community & Economic Development, City of Clarkdale, AZ

With a background in corporate leadership and project management in the airline and software industries, Jodie Filardo spent her most recent fifteen years of employment in the public sector range from college executive leadership in economic development to municipal government positions.  She is currently the Community & Economic Development Director for Clarkdale, Chair-Elect for the Northern Arizona Council of Governments Economic Development Council, Treasurer of the Verde Valley Regional Economic Organization, the Chair of the Verde Valley Broadband Coalition, and a member of the VVREO Revolving Loan Review Committee.

Jodie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University; she holds an MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.  In the early 80s, Jodie and her husband, Al founded the Filardo Group, a consulting firm which specializes in organizational development.  Additionally, they are founders and instructors for Verde Valley Leadership, Inc., an organization inspiring individuals to action in the community, and Jodie presently serves on the board as Past Chair.
